Geneva is known as the “smallest of the big metropolises” and is also the second biggest city in the French-speaking part of the Country. Geneva is reflected by the beautiful lake that has its name and is surrounded by the Alps. The city is also home to around 20 International Organizations, among them the European base of the UNO and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

It is a city of beautiful architecture in stunning harmony with nature with many cultural landmarks to visit. The Jet d’Eau, the 140 meters water fountain at the mouth of Lake Geneva, the St. Pierre Cathedral which was a Roman Catholic Cathedral, the Russian Church, the Palais Wilson renamed after U.S. President Woodrow Wilson, one of the founders of the League of Nations, when Switzerland joined the League of Nations and the building became the organization’s headquarters and the Brunswick Monument which is a mausoleum built in honor of Charles II, Duke of Brunswick. The Duke bequeathed his fortune to the city of Geneva upon his death in 1873 and asked that a monument be built in his name in the city.
